This summer, a box of fresh art's sock monkeys made its way to South America to a home for children in Huajchilla, Bolivia. The residence is run by Fundación Alalay (http://www.fundacionalalay.org) and is just outside La Paz. It is home to more than 70 Bolivian youth living in community with a focus on education, self care, and personal growth through the arts, sports, and related activities. The sock monkeys were a welcome surprise for the children there, who were delighted to receive them. Because there weren't enough monkeys for every child living at the home, the director came up with a plan to distribute one monkey to each of the younger children on their birthday so they have something special to celebrate that day. fresh art plans to send more sock monkeys in the future.
