Gitschiner Strasse 15, Berlin,and Launch Housing, Melbourne

as well as fresh art’s workshops and work from art workshops at Bowery

Residents Committee (BRC) and St. Francis Residences in New York City.

Café Grumpy, 224 W. 20th St, New York, NY
November 4 – 30, 2014

 fresh art participated in this exchange exhibition with Café Art, a London-based non-profit that exhibits artworks by homeless individuals, and HomeGround Services, a Melbourne, Australia-based non-profit that works to house homeless individuals. fresh art exhibited six each of Café Art and HomeGround Services artists’ works as well as ten works by fresh art artists, including works by artists from the art programs of Bowery Residents Committee, Healing Arts Initiative, and Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter. Café Art exhibited six works on canvas and paper by fresh art’s workshop artists and artists from programs at BRC and HAI at Café Kahaila in London from December 3, 2014 – January 3, 2015. And HomeGround Services mounted a similar exhibition at Brunswick Street Gallery in Melbourne from November 14 – November 27, 2014.

This Is Where I Live: London Exhibition
Café Grumpy, 224 W. 20th St, New York, NY
October 15 – November 15, 2013

This exhibition of 13 paintings and works on paper was created by people affected by homelessness in London. The program they are a part of is the non-profit organization Café Art (www.cafeart.org.uk). In cafes around London, Café Art exhibits artworks created by homeless people, as well as works by individuals who are socially vulnerable. This video was shot and edited by Josh Steinbauer during the opening night exhibition at Café Grumpy in New York, held on October 15, 2013:

 

While fresh art’s installation of Café Art’s exhibition was on view in New York at Café Grumpy from October 15 – November 15, 2013, CaféArt mounted an exhibition of fresh art’s artists’ work at Café Kahaila in London from October 15 – November 7, 2013.
